High Treason and Disloyalty
By Luis F. Brizuela Cruz
The most recent scandal afflicting the Obama administration may involve more than erratic judgment and violation of procedure. It may constitute a very serious case of treason at the highest level of government and without any doubt it illustrates a blatant displacement of loyalty and support from many to try to justify the actions of one.
Army soldier Bowe Bergdahl, promoted to sergeant for time served during captivity at the hands of the Taliban, has just been exchanged for five hard core Islamic terrorists who had been detained in the U.S. military base of Guantanamo, Cuba.
The action taken by the administration without consulting, or at least informing, Congress has ignited strong bipartisan criticism from members of the House and the Senate. It has demonstrated, once more, the traits of impunity that have characterized the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. But beyond what has come to be the acceptable norm in the modus operandi of the administration, we may be witnessing a case of treasonous and disloyal behavior on the part of the highest office in the nation.
There is great suspicion that Sgt. Bergdahl may have deserted from his unit, may have surrendered or may have been captured by the enemy and may have become its collaborator during the process. The evidence supporting this conjecture not only seems overwhelming, but also includes the testimony of several members of Bergdahl’ s platoon who have come forward to express their concerns about the sergeant’ s actions and comments prior to his disappearance from the base.
The Obama administration has formulated an intense campaign to justify its actions, claiming that saving the life of an American soldier constitutes more than sufficient reason to risk liberating five war criminals who have already returned to the theater of terrorism to resume their campaign against the United States and the rest of the civilized world. In the process, the administration has questioned and criticized the veracity of the testimony of the other soldiers against Bergdahl.
Even in the highly unlikely case scenario that Sergeant Bergdahl ends up receiving full exoneration for the suspicion of having affiliated and collaborated with the enemy, the actions of the administration in favoring such possibility while attacking the version provided by other honorable military personnel, leave a lot to be desired in terms of the adequate placement of loyalty and support.
A review of the press conference right outside the White House on the day when the exchange of prisoners became official, clearly shows President Obama not only escorting Bergdahl’s mother while inappropriately placing his arm and hand around her waist, but also profoundly emotional as he watches and listens, minutes later, to Bergdahl’s father speak to the world and thank Allah in Pushto, the language of the Taliban.
While it still remains to be confirmed whether Sergeant Bergdahl may have affiliated and/or collaborated with the enemy, it is unquestionable that by its actions the Obama administration has been, naively or consciously, aiding and abetting our enemies for quite some time.
