Forethoughts and Afterthoughts
(A correspondent’s timeline to the election of a Washington outsider)

By Luis F. Brizuela Cruz

Forethoughts:

Summer 2015: The highly diversified field of republican candidates for the 2016 presidential election (which ironically seems more emblematic of the Democratic Party) includes a very colorful and undeniably controversial character whose name is Donald Trump.
Here is a man that has openly criticized the President, attacked illegal immigration, underestimated the heroism of an authentic American patriot and former POW and chastised countries like Mexico, China and Russia for their misdeeds. Contrary to the norm of this politically correct era, he often goes on the offense or counter-offense and has excluded the word “apology” from his often clumsy and volatile vocabulary. Why is it then that this peculiar man is leading in many political polls designed to gauge the early chances for a nomination in the Republican Party for the presidency of the United States?
Could it be that this narcissistic and eccentric millionaire business man speaks of issues and concerns, which have been afflicting the minds and souls of a silent majority for quite some time and now that obscured and timid substantial segment of the American public has finally found a voice to utter its cry of despair?
Is it possible that an individual with a limited intellect, bold personality and a hefty wallet has finally dared to disturb the long process of social deterioration, which has continued to bury traditional values, principles and manners and subdued most of the balancing forces barely battling an out of control liberalism and its dooming tentacles of societal decadence?

Spring 2016: This year of new presidential elections and the surge in the contest of a sui generis character named Donald Trump, the status quo of American politics has been jolted possibly more dramatically than in any previous time during the history of the nation. Not only have the pundits of the “party of the donkey” abruptly turned their attention to the phenomenon called Trump; deeming his intrusion as a possible spoiler of their extensive and seemingly unflappable socialist agenda, but the “pachyderms” have also awakened from their comfortable lethargy and complacency to realize that they must take serious action on this matter; not necessarily against their archrivals, but in reference to the character who may alter their own ambivalent agenda.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Could Hillary Clinton be presently marching, undisturbed, to what has been considered, beforehand, as a coronation rather than a nomination? Is the hippy fixated in the sixties, Bernie Sanders, the Democratic Party’s version of Trump or just an accessory of the She-Clinton’s campaign? The American political establishment is indebted to Hillary Clinton and her election may be a mandatory step in the path of the aforementioned American social engineering scheme. Clinton’s surprise setback against Obama in 2008 could have altered the original script that suggested the arrival of a female president prior to an African American. The script resulted somehow inverted and America was left to deal with the curious case of Barack Hussein Obama, a hybrid version of a black commander in chief. Either way, the order of the factors may not have altered the catastrophic product.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
If nominated by the “elephants” and as improbable as it may be, elected President of the United States, the question remains: will Donald Trump be the man who would change the course of the country and therefore the world, or will he eventually also enlist himself in the colossal Country Club of American politics, thus perpetuating the decadence of the status quo?
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Fall 2016: Even If it all concludes as per the expected sequence of events in the tradition of American politics, two forces of upheaval may have already been set in motion and shall begin manifesting shortly after the suffrage. A Trump victory may lead to destructive protests across the nation within hours, in mimic of the well-coordinated left-wing, anti-law enforcement maneuvers of our recent past. A Clinton triumph could possibly fully awake the sleeping giant of American right-wing factions, eventually conducing to serious subterranean social combustions.

Afterthoughts:
After November 8: And the plague of socialism was halted just when it appeared that the young republic had reached the point of no return. The body of the nation, overcome for decades by a multitude of epidemic symptoms like arrogance, indifference, dependency, opportunism, ignorance and elitist condescension, suddenly showed the first signs of recovery. Such was the magnitude of the event, that even many of the seemingly intelligent minds could not easily grasp the miracle in front of their bewildered eyes. Many of them, children of indoctrination and manipulation, for the first time were discovering the veil that had clouded their minds and eyes.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
And as predicted, protests are taking place across the nation, after Trump’s victory.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
The individuals who announced that they would be moving out of the United States in the event of a Trump presidency always mentioned Canada and Europe as their possible destination. No mention of Mexico, Latin America or Africa. Sensing some possible prejudice and racism here. The realm of double standards seems to have reached critical mass. What is next?
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Popular Vote or Populist Vote? The Electoral Vote protects the Republic from the Populist Vote. It is a Representative Government. It is a Republic. The concept of Republic protects the nation from the always impending lunacy of democracy.
